How the four categories changed
The overall score increased because the final document became clearer, not because of the number of edits. Each category improved for a different reason.
Structure
Repeated ideas were removed, experience was grouped consistently, and section names stayed standard for recruiters and ATS.
Experience and impact
Tasks gained product context and already-confirmed results became easier to notice. No new metrics were added.
Wording
Noun-heavy lists were rewritten into concise action statements.
ATS
Dates, roles, tools, and section hierarchy became more consistent for machine parsing.

What held the original version back
- Experience bullets read like a list of topics rather than actions the candidate took.
- Several key tools were listed in Skills but were weakly connected to work examples.
- Long wording and repeated phrases made the resume harder to scan.
- The summary did not quickly explain the candidate's QA specialization or product context.
What edits were applied
1. Experience bullet gained an action
Before
Requirements analysis in Confluence, test cases and scenarios in TestRail.
After
Analyzed product requirements in Confluence and created test cases and regression scenarios in TestRail.
The rewrite clarifies the candidate's role while keeping the original tools and facts.
2. Summary became shorter and more specific
Before
QA tester. Manual testing, test cases, Jira, SQL.
After
QA Engineer with experience testing fintech web applications. Create test cases and bug reports, verify data with SQL, and track defects in Jira.
The product context came from the original experience section; no new companies or technologies were introduced.
3. Skills were cleaned up
Before
SQL · SELECT · JOIN · module testing · modular testing · Jira
After
SQL · module testing · Jira
SELECT and JOIN are part of SQL, and duplicate wording was merged.
What changed in the final version
The final version became more consistent and easier to scan while keeping the original facts. It did not gain invented companies, skills, or outcomes.
What could still improve
- Add measurable results only where the candidate can verify the numbers.
- Check whether every tool in Skills is supported by experience, projects, or training.
- Tailor the final version to a specific job description before applying.
